The Staff and Board at NRV DRC sincerely appreciate everyone who donated and we are so excited to share with you how these funds will be spent on NRV residents with disabilities. Be on the lookout for more information and photos in our quarterly newsletters of how these funds helped individuals gain accessibility and live independently.
2020 is the year to focus on vision – A vision the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) created 30 years ago on July 26, 1990.
The ADA Act was enacted to mandate equality and accessibility for individuals with disabilities. What better way to promote the 30th anniversary than to pay homage to what we stand for?
To celebrate the ADA and hopefully bring more momentum to this year’s fundraiser, NRV DRC’S goal for Give Local is honoring the past 30 years of disability rights and laws while looking forward to 30 more years accessibility – which is why the amount of this year’s goal is meaningful –$3,030.
Please help NRV DRC reach our goal by clicking on the ‘Give’ tab at the top of this page and donating to a great cause. We appreciate your support!

On January 15, 2020 NRV DRC staff participated in the Hokie Health & Wellness Fair at Virginia Tech. There was a great turn out and we enjoyed informing people about all of the services we offer at NRV DRC. As an incentive, those who came by our booth and chose to sign up would have a chance to win a gift basket from Chocolate Paper located in Roanoke, VA.
On January 16, 2020 we announced our lucky winner, Janet Murphy. Congratulations Janet and thank you so much for stopping by and entering into our raffle, we hope you enjoy your gift basket!
NRV DRC volunteered to participate in Downtown Christiansburg Inc.’s first window decorating contest. We would like to thank Christiansburg High School’s art class for decorating our windows while incorporating disabilities into our theme. From now until December 22, you can vote for your favorite window on the non-profit’s Facebook page by giving it a like. The one that gets the most likes will win a $250 gift card toward marketing their business.
